The Democrats need to get their shit together and come up with a clear message. And that message should include the following:
1. Reinstate the tax on wealth that Reagan took away and make it effective immediately. Their cuts are immediate. Why shouldn’t the tax on wealth be immediate?
2. Reinstate Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security the way it was before they touched it and sabotaged it.
3. Limit congressional pay raises to the same percentage as Social Security raises.
4. Give Congress people some sort of a retirement package with a 401(k). Take away pay for life. When we get fired, we don’t get paid the rest of our lives from that job. Neither should they.
5. Give Congress the exact same level of healthcare that’s available through Obamacare. Nothing more, nothing less. When they are treated like the average American, they’ll get more of a shit about the average American.
6. Pass laws that make it illegal for a felon to run for any office. Include that if anybody in Congress is a convicted felon, they need to resign from Congress.
7. Undo citizens United with legislation.
8. Take corporations out of politics.
9. No more corporate donations to drive campaign. Either a. Everything is grassroots or b. Charge a flat annual tax of $250 a year per taxpayer, and divide equally amongst the people running for office after the preliminaries have decided who will represent which party.
10. The Democrat party should re-organize as a labor party that will aim at representing the workers. Too many people are burnt out by the shenanigans of the current two dominating parties.
11. Tax the billionaire class of flat tax on their current wealth to make up for all the taxes they have failed to pay, in addition to a tax on wealth going forward.
We’ve gotta be able to run on more than the “Republican Party sucks.” Don’t run based on what their platform is. Create a platform that the average voter will not be able to resist.
The weak link? Relying on the Democrats to get their shit together. There are enough self-interested mega rich Democrats in the houses, among the donors, and in the party base who will be quite happy with the tax gift, and who don't give a rat's arse about their constituents and who will quietly scuttle any real attempts to fight it.

1. Political (electeds) - keep hammering Trump for his unlawful and unconstitutional actions; file articles of impeachment, to go on record with crimes; block GOP on all matters, always: They support Trump, and Trump is destroying democracy.
2. Personal - person to person; influencing our family and friends to shift public opinion and help more people be civically engaged.
3. Legal - as underway by Marc Elias and team; ACLU; Public Citizen; Democracy Forward; Earthjustice; private law firms; and others
4. Popular - street protests; nonviolent direct action; civil disobedience; boycotts; etc.
