I'm not American. I don't live in America. But. I am horrified by what's happening over there. I was in tears earlier watching disabled people in wheelchairs being zip tied. I'm disabled myself and I never ever thought I'd see such disrespect and cruelty. I will buy you coffee from time to time, payday soon.

It’s horrifying! Even my Congressman is aware that no one knows who these people are! They could be anyone - hey, have fun, dress up like a cop and go clobber someone and haul them away.

Yes, it’s such a dangerous strategy. A license for any creep to openly grab targets for any reason.

According to 'Stand Your Ground' rules...some hardscrapple he men may not take kindly to being 'assaulted'...and if he is an expert in self defense could conceivably do some damage to offending parties....and he'd be correct in his defense since the bad guys never ID'd themselves.

There’s really no safe way to interact with these guys.

I think it's only a matter of time before one of these fools (the masked kidnappers, I mean) get themselves killed, if this keeps up. Some are not going to go quietly to "alligator Auschwitz", El Salvador, or wherever. Not advocating, or even trying to suggest. Just saying so.

From what I've read (although do any of us trust what we read anymore?) this has already happened.

What do I think of them?? Having no respect for these Pinochet-lite goons doesn't even begin to cover it. I have less than zero respect, let alone sympathy for them.

It's good to know what we can do, though. I've been reading everything I can only how to document, video, obstruct as safely and legally as possible, etc., and I'm glad to see this.

None of us can do it all, but everyone can do something. Enough of us, and it is possible to slow it down, stop it, and bring back the prisoners, alive and without having gone insane. I guess the last part goes for us, too, keeping our sanity.

This is a useful post. Thanks for your journalistic efforts.

The people who seem to believe that this is how the Gestapo started don't understand that they didn't wear masks. They didn't need to. There was no internet, and the German communists and Jews weren't armed to the teeth, as we are.

Thanks so much for this, Rosie, and the tips about intervening locally. When things happen fast, really helps have these firmly in mind.

Libby....Zip tied elderly folks by the same officers that were ATTACKED by MAGA on Jan 6, 2021...and now are doing MAGA bidding. 😔

Clearly every one of them deserves prosecution as these immigrants die in trumps concentration camps. Some careful folks need to follow and capture photos of these US Gestapo goons. The can be identified. Pictures of unmasked agents.

It may be a good idea for the kidnappers to have t heir masks pulled off and photos taken. Enough is enough. German people did not deal with this issue and should have. We know what followed.

In the cartoon show, GI Joe, I always wondered where they got the legions of Cobra soldiers. Now I know. These masked idiots are cosplaying Cobra.

Some extra creepy, sneaky crap in the Big Ugly Bill.

The tax cuts for the rich are permanent.

The tiny tax breaks for the working poor, expire in a few years.

They are throwing people off Medicaid, Food Stamps, Healthcare, and doing the biggest funding cuts after the midterm elections in the fall of 2026, because they know how angry people will be (they will just use you, for your vote).

They are making cuts to Medicare.

They are funding ICE thugs with $138.8 billion, making them the largest “law” enforcement agency in our country.

They want the ICE funding, because that is the gestapo they will use to attack us and enforce this dictatorship.

The republicans know how bad this bill is so are lying about it, and/or saying it’s bad, but voting for it anyway.

People need to keep fighting, it will only get worse going forward.

They are today’s KKK. Masks are masks. Not wanting anyone to know who they are is exactly what the KKK did. Going after those they feel are “less than” is the same!

Call them what they are….KKK.

Must remember the ties to the GEO Group, the private-prison network which has ties to Pam Bondi (legal issues in the past) and which is contracted with DHS. A money-making operation. Also, any regime anywhere is always going to have people like ICE agents who get off on being thugs, being cruel, and hurting other people maliciously. It's an unfortunate historic fact; history will remember them as "just doing their job" - which was never excuse at all. https://www.geogroup.com/ice/
